Upcoming Versatility Event Easter Weekend 2024

It's Equine Affair season and many are thinking about the versatility capabilities of their horses. Many of you may remember the versatility course we had set up many years ago to work with the local 4-H kids from Stark, Wayne and Summit County. It was crude, but effective and it was remarkable to see the difference in horse and rider teams from beginning of visit to just 2 hours of playing with on the obstacles.

The challenge is to create "Safe" obstacles for the horses they would never try on their own if they showed up in their pastures. With encouragement from their handler, they eventually try them. Usually the horse finds it entertaining, and in a short time, they are waiting to see what else you as their new knowledge source want them to try.

I have researched many years of challenges shown in versality courses throughout the industry and recreated similar challenges here on the future site of our 35,000 square foot outdoor arena. Some may still be pretty crude, but they should all be safe and get you and your horse a bit of experience for future challenges you'll have in real life, be it on a trail or show arena.

The actual event will be held Easter Weekend, unless the weather is poor or more health concerns are published about local horse health concerns. Watch here at SidneyHawkEquine.com or on Hawk Farms FB page for actual updates.
The Versatility Clinic will be primarily directed for 4-H youth from multi-counties through 18 years of age, but none 4-H youth and adults will be welcome. A small donation will be collected to cover the expenses surrounding the clinic and we will likely offer some concession snacks.
If weather condition is not conducive, we will bring many of the versatility props to the indoor arena. More on that as the date gets closer.
Please feel free to reach out to Sidney or myself, (Dad), for other specifics.
